Dan Noren, Ph.D, P.E.
President
With more than 15 years of solar experience and 30 years in the energy sector under his belt working for major companies including Cypress Creek Renewables, Black & Veatch, Canadian Solar, Blue Oak Energy, and General Electric, Dan has successfully led multidisciplinary teams of project managers, professional engineers, and designers to support solar PV developers and EPC businesses with technical due-diligence, project-derisking, value optimization, full scope detailed design, permitting, procurement, construction administration, and commissioning. Dan ensures all projects are optimized and managed to a successful completion.
When Dan isn't building renewable energy projects, he spends his time exploring the outdoors, hiking, climbing, scuba diving, and motorcycle riding with his family and friends.
Sam Laughlin, P.E., QSD
Director of Project Engineering
Sam has been a licensed civil engineer involved with solar PV design for the past 15 years. He has led teams of highly experienced engineers and designers supporting solar and storage projects for owners, developers, and EPC businesses with technical due diligence, project derisking, value optimization, owner's engineering, full-scope detailed design, permitting, and construction support. His extensive experience and leadership in solar PV design and project de-
risking have been instrumental in ensuring the company’s projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and with maximum value for clients, helping to strengthen the company’s position in the renewable energy market.
Bob Brady
Director of Operations
Bob has over 30 years of construction experience and over 17 years of experience leading PV solar projects at companies such as Sun Edison, Coronal Energy, and Blue Oak Energy.
Notably, he has successfully managed complex utility projects coordinating with many utilities, including PG&E, SCE, Dominion, and TVA; he also has managed many PV solar projects for customers, including the California Department of Corrections, the Department of General Services, and the State of California. In addition to having extensive education and training in project management, he holds three California Contractors classifications, NABCEP certification, and is a United States military veteran.
Nick Bright
Quality, Controls, & Commissioning Manager
With experience spanning over 20 years in commercial electrical and over 10 years in utility-scale solar, Nick has what it takes to keep projects running smoothly and economically. As an electrical contractor for over a decade, Nick has abundant real-world experience in many jurisdictions.
Having built numerous challenging projects, he brings his passion for the PV industry to the Summit team. Planning and building projects in the most strategic and common-sense ways possible are something Nick and Summit Energy can be proud of.
Jerad Erbacher
Sr. Project Manager
Jerad is a highly experienced industry leader with over 20 years of expertise in electrical and instrumentation work across heavy commercial, industrial, and solar projects. Throughout his career, he has held a wide range of leadership and technical roles, including Vice President of
Construction, Director of Construction, Senior Project Manager, Senior Construction Manager, SCADA Systems Commissioning Representative, Foreman, Instrumentation Technician, and Certified Journeyman Electrician. Jerad has a proven track record of successfully delivering complex electrical projects while leading large teams to achieve excellence. His extensive knowledge and diverse experience make him an invaluable asset in any high-stakes construction or electrical environment.
Amie Tomasello
Assistant Project Manager
Amie comes with a variety of construction experience after her 15 years in the industry, managing large construction equipment at Bigge Crane and Rigging, large-scale commercial projects with Webcor and their self-perform entities, smaller boutique-style residential construction, ADA
construction, and now landing in solar with Summit Energy. She is leading the integration of Procore for Summit projects, utilizing their financial capabilities to streamline Owner and Subcontractor invoicing and to track/forecast the project’s financial performance and their Project Management resources to consolidate the construction drawings, schedules, RFIs/submittals, punch lists, etc.
She has experience with various permitting entities, their processes, and requirements to keep the pre-construction process on track, and that required documentation is on site.
Being a lifelong surfer and all-around nature lover, she has been drawn to more sustainable types of construction
and her values align greatly with those of Summit Energy. She carries a current First Aid, CPR & AED Training certificate, so the health and safety of the crews in the field are always a top priority for her. Amie likes to surf, walk the beach with her dog, BBQ, and garden in her free time.
Craig Spahn
Construction Manager
Craig, a 20-year SF Bay Area solar industry veteran, installed his first grid-tied PV system in 2002. Since then, he has worked in all aspects of solar construction, including Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Developer, Installation Manager, and Director of Operations. Craig brings this wide breadth of experience to every solar project, ensuring the construction meets the highest safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Standards demanded by clients include UCSF Medical Center, Cal Berkeley, Hewlett Packard, SF International Airport, Cliff Bar, the City of Beverly Hills, and multiple school districts and colleges in California.
Sustainability has been a passion for years (with his wife, Cat). He trained in Permaculture Design, Passive solar / Natural Home Building, Organic Gardening Education, Native Plant Restoration, and
Water Conservation.
Hector Rico
Construction Manager
Hector is a seasoned electrical professional with 13 years of experience across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. His expertise includes serving as a Senior Electrician and Field Installer for an autoclave and industrial oven manufacturer, where he traveled to leading aerospace and defense facilities such as Boeing, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Virgin Galactic, and SpaceX. Certified as a California General Electrician, Hector has accumulated 4 years of experience in commercial and utility-scale solar installations, including rooftop and ground-mount systems. For three years, he was a Supervisor and Coordinator with Braun Electric, one of Summit’s approved and preferred electrical contractors. His diverse experience and leadership in both electrical and solar projects make him a valuable asset to any team.
Tim Brown, NABCEP PVIP
Director of Construction
Tim has 17 years of experience leading the construction of solar power and battery storage facilities, working for companies including Summit Energy, Coronal Energy, Blue Oak Energy, Dri Energy, Summit Electric, and Bleyco. Tim has successfully led the installation of more than 1GW of
Solar PV as Director of Construction, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Contractor, General Superintendent and Superintendent. His thorough understanding of Solar PV systems and BESS systems, including electrical, structural, mechanical, and civil construction, makes him a key partner
to deliver reliably performing projects on time to exceed customer expectations.
Hamed Far, M.S., P.E.,QSD/P
Director of Finance
Hamed is a seasoned civil engineer and solar industry leader with a deep foundation in solar PV project design and management. He directs financial strategy and oversees the EPC for solar projects. He applies his extensive expertise in technical due diligence, project de-risking, and value
optimization to deliver high-quality, efficient solar solutions.
Outside of work, Hamed enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the world of AI, creating and testing prompts, and discovering new ways technology can inspire and connect.
Matt Seitzler, M.S., P.E.
Director of Technology
Matt leads the Technology Implementation at Summit Energy, where he is responsible for project quality control, engineering design feedback, and constructability for Summit Energy’s photovoltaic, energy storage, and hybrid solar plus storage projects. Prior to Summit Energy, Matt
was the Principal Electrical Engineer for PG&E’s Remote Grid program, leading the technical development and post-construction asset management for the Remote Grid fleet.
Before PG&E, Matt was the Principal Electrical Engineer on the renewable energy development team within the Power Generation department at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). At SMUD, he led a team responsible for the standardization, design, procurement, and construction
management of distribution and transmission-connected utility-scale photovoltaic, energy storage, hybrid, and wind energy projects. Matt has been an engineer in the renewable energy sector since 2004, working for organizations including Blue Oak Energy, The Davis Energy Group, The University of California, Davis, and Black and Veatch.
Ralph Damerow
Sr. Project Manager
Ralph has 16 years of experience as a Project Manager in the solar industry, working in module manufacturing, solar racking, development, and EPC. Ralph has successfully led large-scale commercial and utility-scale PV installations at Blue Oak Energy, Soligent, and Mounting Systems GmbH. He has worked on highly customized solar projects, from a $5M+ solar-power-generating research and development facility to collaborating with an internationally diverse team on a
complex Dragon Scale PV solar project for a Bay Area tech giant. In addition to his vast experience, Ralph prides himself on delivering his projects on time and under budget, making him a great asset to the Summit Energy team.
In his free time, Ralph enjoys spending time with his family,
motorcycling, and taking canoe trips.
Patrick Johnson
Project Manager
Patrick has a diverse background in civil engineering, specializing in land development for commercial, residential, and solar projects. With over six years of experience in permitting, designing, and constructing ground-mounted solar projects, including fixed and tracker systems, his
expertise spans key areas such as site inspections, stormwater design, grading, and survey analysis. Patrick is dedicated to providing cost-effective solutions while fostering strong relationships with clients and contractors. His passion for renewable energy and commitment to
delivering profitable, high-quality projects drive his mission to create sustainable energy solutions that benefit both clients and the broader community.
Patrick enjoys playing tennis, hiking, camping, fishing, playing the guitar, surfing, and spending time with his family in his free time. Hailing from Georgia, he is a passionate fan of Georgia Tech football and the Atlanta Braves.
Mariya Boren
Assistant Project Manager
Mariya is a seasoned office administration and project management professional with over 17 years of experience driving successful project outcomes. She excels in planning, execution, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery. Adept at developing standard operating procedures, managing documentation workflows, and leveraging tools like MS Office, SharePoint, and project scheduling software, Mariya ensures efficiency and quality in every task. Her expertise extends to complex administrative operations, and she has a strong understanding of civil drawings and blueprints, making her an asset in construction and engineering environments. Known for her ability to thrive under strict deadlines, Mariya consistently delivers results that exceed expectations.
Outside of her professional life, Mariya enjoys music, singing, and streaming video games. She spends time tending to her mini farm and fostering various animals with her daughter, from kittens to pigs and everything in between. A devoted family person, she cherishes moments spent with her new grandbaby.
Egward Romero
Construction Manager
Egward has worked in the Solar industry since 2012, starting as an installer on a utility-scale project and quickly advancing to mechanical and electrical foreman roles, ensuring quality rooftop PV system installations for major retail stores in California. Transitioning into Operations and
Maintenance for utility projects, he progressed from Technician to Area Site Supervisor, overseeing the production of over 750 megawatts of solar energy feeding directly into the grid. Throughout his career, he has prioritized safety, built strong team cultures, and fostered meaningful relationships while contributing to a cleaner future, one solar panel at a time.
Gabe Alfano​
​Construction Manager
Gabe has worked in electrical installation and construction since 2002 and has been in the solar industry since 2010. He began with residential installations before transitioning to commercial projects, serving as the lead electrician for multiple solar companies.
As he advanced into supervisory and project management roles, Gabe took charge of numerous commercial and multi-family solar projects.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors through hiking, biking, and camping, and traveling the world.
